People care

As the writer of this letter to the editor of the Times-Tribune makes clear, open records is an important issue to the people of Pennsylvania. It is how we find out what our representatives are doing. It is also, the writer points out, a good way to gauge their attitude toward us, the voters, and toward the public trust we elected them to serve.
Editor: Your editorial in Monday’s Times-Tribune is most informative with regard to the breadth and depth of the arrogance and disrespect the members of the House Government Committee have for the people of our state who voted them into office.
The piece speaks volumes about these self-consumed demagogues who think they have the right to dictate what the public should or should not know of the ongoing operations of our state via access to state government records.
The only thing I would ask is that you publish the names of the representatives on the House State Government Committee so that I, and possibly many others, can contact them and let them know where we stand on this issue of “open government.”
