Open Government Forum this weekend

It’s been kind of quiet in the news this week, but I just wanted to remind our readers that Saturday is the Society of Professional Journalists and the PA Freedom of Information Coalition’s Forum on Open Government & Pennsylvania Open Records Law Workshop in Pittsburgh. If you’re in town, please stop by!
I am a resident in the Borough of Jermyn in Northeast PA. I have requested as a taxpayer an accounting of money spent on frivolous lawsuits my local School Board and Superintendant. I was given a 3 page what looks like a blacked out national security secret. As a taxpayer, I feel that I am being kept in the dark by a board that must be hiding something. I know the rules are different for the media, having been a TV assignment editor for many years, but I am a taxpayer. What can I do to force the board to relinquish the figures I have asked for?
