The Philadelphia Inquirer reporterd yesterday that the beleaguered Philadelphia School District, facing a huge budget deficit, agreed to a severance pay for departing adminstrator in which she received her full salary for only three months’ work, plus health benefits through June 2008 and unused vacation days. There was no contract requiring her to receive a severance package. Per the Inquirer, “The district at first refused to release the terms of the severance agreement, citing confidentiality, but a day later it provided the details after The Inquirer filed a request under the state’s Right to Know law.”
