PA newspapers on open records.

Today, the Reading Eagle said, “it’s a wonder anyone ever finds out what he wants to know” about government in PA.
And the Erie-Times News points out that “The next time you walk into Erie City Hall or any government office, you should be able to see any public record — without any fuss. That’s because the records filed in these offices, on paper or computer, are your records, with few exceptions.”
A large public school district in the northern Chicago suburbs just proposed a great transparency reform noted here:

It’s good to get state laws changed (especially when the Pennsylvania law comes in at 48 out of 50 compared to the laws in other states) but I also like the idea of people working directly with school districts, cities and counties to ask for this kind of reform, regardless of what kind of statewide legislative reforms do, or don’t, get passed.
